Bio:
Myra Young is member of Witnesses to Hunger, a seasoned Certified Nursing Assistant, and a mother of three who currently lives with her husband in Philadelphia, PA. A founding member of Witnesses to Hunger, Myra is a powerful writer and passionate activist whose work—which is based on her experiences as a survivor of abuse, homelessness, and unemployment—both advocates for and disrupts stereotypes surrounding working-class families in need of access to affordable food, housing, and healthcare. Myra’s writing and advocacy has been featured on CBS News, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Coalition on Human Needs, PhillyVoice, TalkPoverty.org, CLASP, and elsewhere.
